Aplications

Foot valves are commonly used in ponds, swimming pools, wells and almost anywhere there is a pump.

The surface or opening of the foot valve is larger than that of the pipe, thereby minimizing pressure loss (energy dissipated due to friction along the pipe).

Description

Our resilient seated gate valves serve to stop or give complete passage to a fluid, opening and closing the circuit using a rubberized wedge that gradually closes vertically until it conforms to the inside of the valve body. They are bidirectional and integral passage so they offer minimal load loss.

They are full bore and are installed in pipelines as isolation valves. Do not use them as control or regulation valves. To close we will make a rotating movement of the steering wheel clockwise and counterclockwise to open. As these are external spindle valves, operation is carried out by means of an ascending threaded spindle that rises and falls together with the rubberized wedge as the valve is operated, which provides a visual indication of the valve position and allows the valve to be greased. spindle. A spindle nut placed on the top of the rubberized wedge is fixed by pins to the spindle so that the assembly moves up and down at the same time.

They are used when a small head loss and total pitch are needed. When it is completely open, it does not usually present an obstruction to the passage of the fluid, which gives a low pressure loss.

As they are completely open, the design allows the use of devices to clean the inside of the pipes. The manually operated valve, since its operation is slow, will also avoid the effects of water hammer.

They have the inside of the body with a flat bottom that allows the free passage of impurities through the valve, this does not occur in metal closing gates. The rubberized closing wedge traps and absorbs impurities as the valve closes, and eliminates them when the valve opens, returning the rubber wedge to its original shape. This ensures a tight airtight seal.
