Our flanged Y-strainer is a practical and simple solution for removing suspended particles from water supply pipes, as well as scale, rust, sediment, or any other type of residue. It features an internal stainless steel mesh, which allows particles in the water to be easily trapped for later removal. Additionally, it is easy to maintain and has low pressure drop. It is unidirectional, and it is important to ensure that the arrow indicating the direction of flow points in the correct direction. It can be installed vertically or horizontally, and the protruding part of the filter that houses the screen must point downward to ensure that the filtered material does not interfere with the main flow. We must ensure there is sufficient space around the filter’s protrusion to allow for cleaning. If we need to clean the screen, we will first close all the valve connections on both sides of the filter, then remove the cover and its fasteners (taking care not to damage the cover/body gasket) and if you need to clean out the material deposited inside, remove the plug from the end of the filter’s protruding section and empty out the material inside. It will be used in processes that require clean fluids, as it protects critical mechanical equipment (solenoid valves, pumps, turbines) that is highly sensitive to contaminants and whose deterioration can disrupt or even damage the entire system. It is important to choose the correct diameter for the screen holes (screen mesh size). A filter with holes that are too small can cause a greater pressure drop from the inlet to the outlet, and can clog the filter and increase pressure loss. And if the holes are too large, they may allow particles to pass through that can impair the performance and service life of the equipment. It will be used in applications that require constant protection against debris and contamination (liquids, steam, natural gas, air).
