Aplications

Foot valves are commonly used in ponds, swimming pools, wells and almost anywhere there is a pump.

The surface or opening of the foot valve is larger than that of the pipe, thereby minimizing pressure loss (energy dissipated due to friction along the pipe).

Description

Our Y-type filter with cast iron flanges is a practical and simple solution to remove suspended particles in water pipes as well as scale, rust, sediment or any other type of residue. It has an internal stainless steel mesh, which allows particles in the water to be easily stopped and then removed. In addition, it has easy maintenance and low pressure losses.

It is unidirectional, and it will be important to see that the arrow indicating the direction of flow is pointing in the correct direction. It can be installed vertically or horizontally and the protruding part of the filter where the sieve is housed must point downwards to ensure that the filtered material does not interfere with the main flow.

We must take into account sufficient space around the filter protrusion to be able to clean it. If we need to clean the sieve, first we will close all the valve connections on both sides of the filter, and then remove the cover and its screws (being careful not to damage the cover/body joint) and if what we need is to clean the material deposited inside, we will remove the plug from the end of the protruding part of the filter and empty the material inside.

It will be used in processes that require clean fluids since it protects fundamental mechanical equipment (solenoid valves, pumps, turbines) that are very sensitive to dirt and whose deterioration can disturb and even damage the entire system.

It is important to choose the diameter of the sieve holes (sieve clearance) well. A filter with a hole that is too small can cause a greater pressure drop from inlet to outlet, and can clog the filter and increase pressure drop. And if the hole is too large, it can allow elements to pass through that deteriorate the performance and useful life of the equipment.

It will be placed in applications requiring constant protection against debris and contamination (liquids, steam, natural gas, air).
