Aplications

Foot valves are commonly used in ponds, swimming pools, wells and almost anywhere there is a pump.

The surface or opening of the foot valve is larger than that of the pipe, thereby minimizing pressure loss (energy dissipated due to friction along the pipe).

Description

Our metal seated gate valve serves to stop or give complete passage to a fluid, it is bidirectional, and opens and closes the circuit using a wedge with a conical design.

It has a concave housing at the bottom of the valve where sediments and impurities from the network are lodged and remain embedded in the wedge and are then released. These will be cleaned during maintenance or repair.

It is suitable for installation in those points where it must remain normally closed, since when the wedge fits into the body it presents a good seal under any circumstance and offers great durability. We will also use it when it comes to handling compressible fluids such as steam with so that slow closing does not cause hydraulic phenomena that could damage the valve and the general system.

The standard packing is PTFE (Teflon®) for excellent sealing effect and anti-corrosion properties.

It is installed in pipelines as an isolation valve. Do not use it as a control or regulation valve. To close we will make a rotating movement of the steering wheel clockwise and counterclockwise to open. As it is an external spindle valve, operation is carried out by means of an ascending threaded spindle that rises and falls along with the wedge as the valve is operated, which provides a visual indication of the valve position and allows the spindle to be greased. . A spindle nut placed on the top of the wedge is fixed by pins to the spindle so that the assembly moves up and down at the same time.

It has a small head loss and a total passage which gives a low head loss.

The standard manually operated valve (with handwheel) being slow in operation will also avoid the effects of water hammer.
