Foot valves are commonly used in ponds, swimming pools, wells and almost anywhere there is a pump.

The surface or opening of the foot valve is larger than that of the pipe, thereby minimizing pressure loss (energy dissipated due to friction along the pipe).

Description

Our wafer guillotine valve is designed for isolation in systems with a high content of suspended solids and is ideal for the treatment of sludge, heavy oils, non-flammable liquids, water treatments, chemical plants, mining and cement plants. It has a very small pressure loss when fully open, is easy to operate and has a relatively low weight. The valve is designed to open and close slowly to protect itself from water hammer.
Basically it is an external spindle valve whose operation is carried out by a rising threaded spindle attached to a stainless steel gate or guillotine that rises and falls as the valve is operated, providing a visual indication of the valve position and Allows the spindle to be greased. A fixed spindle nut, placed in the upper part of the bridge, allows the assembly (gate and spindle) to raise and lower at the same time. It has a body made of a single cast block with interior guides to guide the guillotine that prevents the accumulation of solids in the closure.
The valve is only used for applications requiring a fully open or closed position as otherwise vibrations may occur, gradually eroding the gate and seat.

Our valve provides high flow rates with small head losses, has wedges to help the gate close against the body and seat and the gate has rounded edges that protect the seat gasket and gasket.
Multiple options and construction combinations regarding the type of valve (bidirectional, unidirectional…), the type of actuation (handwheel, lever, electric actuator, pneumatic…), the body material (GG25, GGG40, GGG50, CF8M…), the the gate (stainless steel AISI 304L, AISI 316L…), the gasket (Synt+PTFE+NBR, Synt+PTFE+ EPDM, graphite…) and the seat (metal-metal, EPDM, NBR, FKM (Vitón®) , silicone…).
