Aplications

Foot valves are commonly used in ponds, swimming pools, wells and almost anywhere there is a pump.

The surface or opening of the foot valve is larger than that of the pipe, thereby minimizing pressure loss (energy dissipated due to friction along the pipe).

Description

Our single flap check valve is designed to prevent reverse flow in pipe installations and is manufactured in a single piece or circular body, with a thin closing disc or flap in the middle of the body. This closing disc is held in a central position by screws and small plates connected to the flange. This check valve uses a nitrile sealing O-ring in a groove that ensures a perfect seal and makes it suitable for a wide variety of working fluids. It has an O-ring on each face that allows direct installation to flanges without the need for gaskets.

On opening, the disc moves away from the seat to allow forward flow and when the flow stops, the flapper returns to the initial position (closed position) and thus blocks the return of flow.

The disc or clapper acts as a shutter and does so thanks to the force of gravity, so it will be important to place it in the correct position since, otherwise, the installation will not work properly and breakdowns will appear.

It will be important to take into account during assembly, the direction of the fluid, that the inner diameter of the flange does not become an impediment for the closing disc to open correctly, that it is not installed where there is intermittent flow, that the valve is correctly aligned with the pipe and care must also be taken not to bring heat sources close to the rubber seats.

This type of valve is designed to operate efficiently in horizontal or vertical pipelines (upward or downward fluid direction), has a long service life and operates easily, even under low pressure conditions.
